For example, modern bedrooms decorated using clean lines and minimalist decor look best with modern artwork on the walls. Using simple lines and usually stronger in color, this type of artwork creates maximum impact for modern bedroom designs.

Country styles on the other hand, look best when accented with florals, landscapes or rural scenes. Quilts suspended from a rod and hung on the walls can create a dynamic impact in a country style bedroom.

Traditional bedroom designs will coordinate with a wide variety of artwork. Just have an eye open for color and scale and make sure they both work for the room.

Scale refers to the size of the artwork in relation to its placement. For example, a piece of art hung over a queen size bed should span more than half the width of the bed. If it is too small, it will make that whole part of the room look odd. Too large and it overpowers the bed itself. If you have small artwork for a large space, hang more than one piece of artwork there.
